FBA Fees (Fulfillment by Amazon Fees)

The fees Amazon charges for storing, picking, packing, and shipping your products through the FBA program. Includes fulfillment fees (per unit) and monthly storage fees.

What Are FBA Fees?

FBA fees cover the logistics Amazon provides: warehousing, picking, packing, shipping, customer service, and returns handling. They consist of two main components:

  • Fulfillment fee - A per-unit charge based on product size and weight
  • Monthly storage fee - A per-cubic-foot charge for warehouse space, higher during Q4 (Oct-Dec)

Additional FBA Fees

Sellers may also face aged inventory surcharges (for items stored 180+ days), removal/disposal fees, return processing fees, and unplanned service fees for improperly prepared shipments.

Aged Inventory Surcharge (Long-Term Storage Fee)

An additional fee Amazon charges for inventory stored in FBA warehouses for more than 180 days. Previously called Long-Term Storage Fee (LTSF). Increases significantly at 270+ and 365+ days.

Profit Margin

The percentage of revenue that remains as profit after deducting all costs (COGS, Amazon fees, PPC, shipping, operating expenses). Net profit margin = (Net Profit ÷ Revenue) × 100.

Referral Fee

The commission Amazon charges on every sale, typically 8% to 15% of the selling price depending on the product category. This is Amazon's primary revenue from marketplace sellers.
