Estimates only, based on the figures you enter. Amazon fees vary by category, size and weight and change over time - always confirm current fees in Seller Central. Rates are for the US (amazon.com) marketplace. FBA fees include the 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge; oversize fees are approximate. Nothing you type is sent anywhere; the calculation runs entirely in your browser.

This is one product. You sell hundreds.

Doing this by hand for every SKU - and guessing at fees that never quite match - is exactly the problem SellerLegend solves. It pulls your actual fees, COGS, PPC and refunds straight from your account and shows true profit for every SKU, automatically.

How Amazon FBA profit is calculated

Your real profit on an FBA sale is the sale price minus everything Amazon and your supply chain take out of it. The three biggest deductions:

Referral fee

Amazon takes a percentage of every sale as a referral fee - typically 15%, though it ranges from about 8% to 17% depending on the category. It is charged on the total sale price, not your profit.

FBA fulfilment fee

A flat per-unit fee to pick, pack and ship your order, based on the product's size tier and weight. Larger and heavier units cost more, and rates rise during the Q4 peak period.

Your own costs

Product cost (COGS), inbound freight to Amazon, advertising (PPC) and prep all come out before you see a profit. Leaving any of these out is the most common reason a "profitable" product actually loses money.

What is a good Amazon profit margin?

Many established FBA sellers target a net margin of 15–30% after all fees and ad spend. Below ~10% leaves little room for returns, fee increases or PPC swings; consistently negative margins on a SKU are a signal to reprice, cut costs, or discontinue.

Frequently asked questions

Are these Amazon fees accurate?

Yes, with one caveat. The profit maths is exact arithmetic on the figures you enter. To save you the lookup, the calculator auto-estimates the Amazon referral % (from the product category) and the FBA fulfilment fee (from the size and weight you enter) from a US rate card current as of the date shown on the page - and both fields stay fully editable. Amazon updates its fees periodically, so for an important decision confirm the current referral and FBA fees in Seller Central or a live listing.

Does this calculator store my data?

No. The entire calculation runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us or saved anywhere.

How is breakeven sale price worked out?

It is the sale price at which net profit is exactly zero, accounting for the fact that the referral fee is a percentage of the price. It tells you the lowest price you can sell at without losing money on the unit.

How does SellerLegend do this automatically?

SellerLegend connects to your Amazon account and pulls your real orders, fees, COGS, PPC and refunds, so you see true net profit for every SKU without entering anything by hand. It is built on the Amazon SP-API.

Is this the same as Amazon's FBA Revenue Calculator?

No. Amazon's FBA Revenue Calculator is Amazon's own tool. This is an independent FBA calculator from SellerLegend, and its US referral and FBA fee estimates were checked against Amazon's calculator. It is built for a quick per-unit decision: enter a price, product cost, ad spend and size, and it returns total Amazon fees, net profit, margin, ROI and a breakeven sale price.

Can I use it as an FBA fee calculator?

Yes. Enter the product's weight and dimensions and pick its category, and the calculator estimates the FBA fulfilment fee and the referral fee for the US marketplace. Both fields stay editable, so you can overwrite them with the exact fees from Seller Central.
