Profit Margin
The percentage of revenue that remains as profit after deducting all costs (COGS, Amazon fees, PPC, shipping, operating expenses). Net profit margin = (Net Profit ÷ Revenue) × 100.
What Is Profit Margin?
Profit margin tells you what percentage of each dollar of revenue you actually keep. For Amazon sellers, calculating true margin means accounting for COGS, referral fees, FBA fees, PPC spend, and operating expenses.
Typical Amazon Seller Margins
Most successful Amazon sellers operate on 15% to 25% net profit margins. Below 10% is a warning sign. Above 30% is excellent but rare at scale.
