At Amazon Accelerate on September 23, 2026, Amazon announced that "every primary account holder worldwide can claim a free 12-month Amazon Quick Plus subscription." The announcement on the Seller Central forums sets the terms: "Sign up by December 31, 2026, for 12 months free for you and two users you delegate. This is available to all sellers globally."
Amazon is now pushing the offer hard. A second forum post invites sellers to an "Ask Amazon" session where the Quick team will answer questions live "on Tuesday, October 20, 8am to 5pm PDT." If you have been wondering whether this is worth your time, or what you would be connecting it to, here is what Amazon has actually said, what it has not, and how to approach it.
What Amazon Quick is
Amazon describes Quick as "an AI companion built for the work that happens outside of Seller Central - planning, analysis, content creation, and staying organized across your business." According to the same post, it "creates documents, spreadsheets, and decks, runs deep research, and connects to your email, calendar, and files so everything lives in one place."
Quick is not a seller-only product. It is sold by AWS, and its pricing page lists several plans, including a Free plan at $0 and the Plus plan this offer covers. AWS lists Plus at "$20 /user/month (annually)" or "$25/user/month billed monthly," describing it as "For teams of up to 300 who need collaboration and user management." The comparison table on that page shows Plus with 10GB of index storage per user against 1GB on Free, and adds user management and centralized billing. In other words, the free year is an upgrade on a tool you could already try for nothing, not access to something otherwise locked away.
The Selling Partner plugin is the part that touches your Amazon data
On its own, Quick is a general workplace AI. The seller-specific piece is the Selling Partner plugin, announced the same day. Amazon's newsroom post says it "connects a seller's Amazon data, including their listing contributions, real-time performance metrics, inventory levels, and sales analytics, directly to their preferred AI agent." Note the word "including": that is Amazon's description, not a full list of what the plugin can see.
Three details matter before you plan around it:
- It is a beta, and only for Amazon's US stores for now. Amazon says the plugin "is now available in beta for sellers in Amazon's U.S. stores, with international expansion to follow." That is about where you sell, not where your business is based. The free Quick Plus year is open to sellers globally, but if you only sell in Amazon stores outside the US, you would be getting Quick without the Amazon data connection, at least for now.
- It is not only for Quick. The forum announcement says the plugin "connects your listings, performance and analytics to Amazon Quick and Anthropic's Claude (both in beta)," and the newsroom post adds that Amazon plans to expand "secure plugin connections to additional third-party AI tools over time."
- It can act, not just read. Amazon says "Their AI doesn't just read from their Amazon business; it can act on it, the same way Seller Assistant does inside Seller Central," and that "When it takes actions, sellers stay in control, reviewing and approving them before they're carried out." For Quick specifically: "Quick shows what it intends to do and waits for approval before acting."
Seller Assistant is getting smarter at the same time
The Quick offer arrived alongside upgrades to Seller Assistant, the AI already built into Seller Central. Amazon says it "now carries persistent memory of each seller's pricing patterns, inventory cycles, and growth goals," and it introduced Seller Assistant workflows: "custom automations that run continuously, monitoring conditions, interpreting changes, and responding dynamically, even when the seller isn't logged in to Seller Central."
For any workflow, Amazon says, "sellers choose whether it just surfaces recommendations or takes actions on their behalf," and "Every action is logged with a complete audit trail." The forum announcement gives restocking and pricing as examples of tasks it can monitor and execute.
So there are now two Amazon AI assistants aimed at sellers. Seller Assistant lives inside Seller Central. Quick is for work outside it. That has already confused some sellers: one asked in the Q&A thread, "Why 2 AI assistants?"
What Amazon has not said yet
The announcements leave several practical questions open. These are the ones to raise at the October 20 session:
- What happens after month 12? Neither forum post nor the newsroom post says whether the subscription ends, drops to the Free plan or converts to a paid Plus plan. Check the sign-up terms before you enter any payment details, and put the renewal date in your calendar.
- Does the free year include plugin access? Amazon presents the subscription and the plugin side by side, but the announcements do not say that claiming Quick Plus gets you into the plugin beta.
- Where does connected data go? On the plugin, the newsroom post says "These external connections don't change how Amazon protects seller data. Every plugin interaction is protected by clear boundaries on what it can access, human approval on actions, and complete audit trails." That describes Amazon's side of the connection. The announcements do not go into how each connected AI tool handles the data it receives, or how Quick's email, calendar and file connections are governed. Read what each connection is allowed to access before you approve it.
That last point is not hypothetical worry. In the forum Q&A thread, several of the early replies from sellers are about data, not features. One seller wrote that the email and file connections looked like "just another opportunity for Amazon to gather your personal information." Another said the thing stopping them from trying it was "qué tan seguro es conectar datos financieros sensibles a una herramienta nueva en beta" - how safe it is to connect sensitive financial data to a new beta tool. Those are fair questions, and the Q&A is the place to get them answered on the record.
How to approach it
A free year of a capable AI workspace is worth having, and the claim window runs to December 31, so there is no need to rush in during peak season. A sensible order:
- Read the terms first. Know what happens at month 12 before you claim.
- Start with low-risk work. Drafting supplier emails, summarising reports and building presentations do not need write access to your account.
- Connect your Amazon data deliberately. If you have access to the plugin beta for Amazon's US stores, start by asking questions and checking the answers before you let it propose any changes, and review every proposed action at the approval step Amazon describes.
- Decide who your two delegates are. Amazon gives the primary account holder two extra free seats. Give them to the people who would actually use it, and remove access when roles change.
- Check its answers against your own numbers. An assistant can only reason with the data it is given.
An AI assistant is only as good as the numbers underneath it
That last step is the one most likely to cost you money. The data Amazon describes for the plugin is Amazon's view of your business: listings, performance, inventory and sales. Your profit also depends on what you paid for the product, what it cost to get it into a fulfillment center and how much ad spend each sale really carried. If an assistant tells you a product is doing well, check that "well" means net profit and not just revenue.
That is the job a dedicated profit tool does. In SellerLegend, you enter cost of goods per SKU, with cost periods so a price change from your supplier applies from the date it happened, and profit tracking then shows net profit per product after Amazon fees, your costs and PPC spend. Use whichever assistant you like for the writing and research. Just make sure the profit figure it is reasoning from is one you trust. Key takeaways
- Every primary Amazon seller account holder worldwide can claim a free 12-month Amazon Quick Plus subscription, plus two delegate seats, by signing up before December 31, 2026.
- AWS lists Quick Plus at $20 per user per month billed annually, or $25 billed monthly. Quick also has a Free plan.
- The Selling Partner plugin connects Amazon data, including listings, performance metrics, inventory and sales analytics, to Quick and Anthropic's Claude. It is in beta and limited to Amazon's US stores for now.
- Actions taken through the plugin need your approval first, according to Amazon.
- Amazon has not said what happens when the free year ends. Ask at the live Q&A on October 20, 8am to 5pm PDT, and check the terms before you claim.
Before you hand any assistant a question about profit, make sure your profit numbers are complete. Start a 21-day free trial of SellerLegend and see your real net profit per SKU.
