SKU (Stock Keeping Unit)
A unique identifier you assign to each product variant in your inventory. Used internally for tracking, unlike ASIN which is Amazon's identifier.
What Is a SKU?
A SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) is your own internal product identifier. You create it when listing a product. Unlike ASINs (which Amazon assigns), SKUs are seller-defined and can encode useful information like supplier, color, size, or batch.
SKU Best Practices
Use a consistent naming convention: SUPPLIER-CATEGORY-SIZE-COLOR (e.g., SUP01-KITCHEN-LG-BLK). This makes inventory management and reporting much easier at scale.
